No matter whether you call it a man cave, mantuary, man pad, manspace or man land, and no matter if it’s in the back room, basement, garage, back shed, chook shed or dunny, a bloke’s got to have his space.

Here’s the dictionary definition according to Wiktionary:

‘Man cave: A part of a home specifically reserved for adult male activities, such as drinking beer, playing games and watching TV; often a garage or den.’

Wikipedia sums it up even better:

‘The term “man cave” is a metaphor describing a room inside the house such as the basement or garage or attic or office, or outside the house such as a wood shed or tool room, where male family members are supposed to be able to do as they please, without fear of upsetting any female sensibility about house decor or design. Paula Aymer of Tufts University calls it the “last bastion of masculinity”’.

Thank you Paula and thank you Wikipedia. This is exactly how we feel about it, and it’s exactly why we created Aussie Man Caves.

It’s a place where you can find the best ideas for creating your individual man space — furniture and decorations, entertainment and game options, and, of course, how to create the perfect man cave bar — all with a unique Aussie twist.
